Jesus is our final sacrifice for sin.
John 19:30 "It is finished"
Jesus finished all the work that he came to earth to accomplish and he announced that it is finished, oh sure there was some things that man thought that he should have accomplished before he left our midst but those things were not on God's agenda.
It is finished; all the prophecies of the Old Testament, which pointed at the sufferings of the Messiah, were accomplished. He suffered and died so that I can live for eternity with him.
Isaiah 53:5-6 But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned--every one--to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
It is finished; the ceremonial law is abolished.
His death was the only sacrifice for sin that was of lasting effect, the old system of sacrifice had to be done over and over again but now we have freedom in Christ to live as a child in his family.
Galatians 4:5 God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children.
It is finished; the work of man's redemption and salvation is now completed.
Romans 7:6 But now we have been released from the law, for we died to it and are no longer captive to its power. Now we can serve God, not in the old way of obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way of living in the Spirit.
The battle is over! I have accepted Jesus sacrifice as the payment for my sins and now I have the freedom to live as his child.
Thank you Lord for the finality of your sacrifice for my sins, I am your child and nothing can change that fact.
