Perfect Gifts: Love

Love is the best gift of all!

Romans 5:8  But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

Ephesians 5:2  Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered Himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.

Colossians 1:19  For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ,

What an amazing concept, have you ever thought about how amazing God's love is? God love me so much that he has done everything that he can do to give me the option of spending eternity with him. He was happy to leave the splendor of heaven and come to earth to suffer and die just because he was compelled to do so by his love.

Think about it, there was not any other motivation for God to send us his son on that first Christmas night other than his love for us, undeserved love! We were not good enough to merit any amount of kindness from God, it is by his unconditional love alone that we have favor with God, he loves us no  matter what.

He showed us how to love despite the reaction of the one that we are giving love to. So what if the love doesn't come back to you, according to our example, we are still supposed to show love, Jesus endured a lot of abuse and he never stopped loving us.

Love is the greatest

1 Corinthians 13:13 Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
There are a lot of gifts being passed around this time of year, some of them small and inexpensive, some of them are creating a lot of debt, but their is a gift that will top them all. The only priceless gift that creates a huge debt that you should be giving is the gift of love.

Thank you Lord for really loving us and giving us the definition of love so that we can know how to truly love others completely.
