Journey To Bethlehem - Peace And Justice

Our righteous judge is coming soon.

Isaiah 11:1–5, 10 A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. 2 The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him, the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;  3 and he will delight in the fear of the LORD.

He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; 4 but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth.

He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.

5 Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist.

10 In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his place of rest will be glorious.

Our righteous judge will deliver justice to the world with "wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD."

There shall be great peace and quiet under his government, the great day that we are all looking for, no more wars and bickering over who gets things their way. The poor will receive justice instead of being exploited and the rich will not get away with murder. This ruler will be of the most impeccable integrity.

Psalms 72:11-14 All kings will bow before him, and all nations will serve him. 12 He will rescue the poor when they cry to him; he will help the oppressed, who have no one to defend them. 13 He feels pity for the weak and the needy, and he will rescue them. 14 He will redeem them from oppression and violence, for their lives are precious to him.

I should do everything that I can each day to bring peace and justice to my little corner of the world. I can choose each day to be merciful, kind and allow others to have it their way. What can you do on behalf of peace and justice in your world? Make a plan to start today.

Lord Jesus, Help me to know what I can do to bring Your peace and justice to this world and help me to follow through and do it.
