Being The First Born Child: Priceless

SCRIPTURE

Genesis 25:29-34 And one day Jacob was cooking some soup when Esau came in from the fields in great need of food; 30 And Esau said to Jacob, Give me a full meal of that red soup, for I am overcome with need for food: for this reason he was named Edom.

31 And Jacob said, First of all give me your birthright. 32 And Esau said, Truly, I am at the point of death: what profit is the birthright to me? 33 And Jacob said, First of all give me your oath; and he gave him his oath, handing over his birthright to Jacob.

34 Then Jacob gave him bread and soup; and he took food and drink and went away, caring little for his birthright.

OBSERVATION

How quickly everything can change, how fast can you make the wrong decision? In an instant Esau gave away the most expensive gift that was the privilege of every first-born male.

Esau was just one step from stupid and then he crossed over the line. We are all that close to making a mess of our lives, one quick decision and your reputation is shot, your family is broken, maybe you ruin your career, you lose your ministry opportunities .

We must maintain a daily relationship with the Lord in order to make wise choices that are pleasing to him; he cannot use you for his kingdom if you are in a situation that he has to discipline you. He won’t use his children that are embarrassing to his family.

APPLICATION

I will study his word and talk to him every day.

PRAYER

Thank you God for your word, it is an amazing book, the best love story ever written. Thank you for giving us your directions on how to live life.
